Porcelain

Real porcelain of the proper grade for countertops is 30% stronger than granite. This is a manufactured material rather than natural, but it has a natural appearance similar to granite. Slabs of this material are lighter, but still have a similar strength of granite or marble. These will require no sealing, have a consistent pattern is heat resistant. This is also a less expensive stone than other alternatives such as granite.

Why Choose Porcelain Countertops?

Over the years, porcelain countertops have improved and become quite popular in modern homes and commercial spaces. Introduced in the 90s, porcelain countertops are versatile, durable and easy to maintain. They are mostly recommended for exterior use which means you can use porcelain in your indoor and outdoor kitchen to create a consistent look. Porcelain countertops come in a wide range of colours and patterns and the slabs are ultra-thin which gives it a sleek and contemporary look. In fact, you can install porcelain over an existing countertop due to its ultra-thinness.

Porcelain Countertops Come In Amazing Features

Today’s designers can specify porcelain countertops that come in different features. Porcelain slabs can be designed to be heat and scratch resistant just like granite. There are even technologies used to create porcelain slabs which are non-porous like quartz. The new technologies have contributed immensely to the improved aesthetics of porcelain countertops. Manufacturers can even create slabs that are as large as five by ten feet which means that porcelain can be used in designing massive kitchen islands. Porcelain slabs are no longer too narrow to be used in commercial kitchen projects.

Ease Of Installation

First, installers love porcelain because it’s lighter to handle than stone. Porcelain is easy to cut and install which means price-wise it’s cheaper to install than other materials like quartz and granite. In terms of design, porcelain tiles have a come a long way to mimic the look of natural stone and wood in bathrooms and kitchen floors and walls. It’s easy to create a space that is personalized to your taste and needs with porcelain.

“I found these guys on HomeStars and the reviews were spot on. The option to pick your own stone was great. The people that came out to do the measurements and complete the install were fantastic…to the point that they even assisted my father-in-law with a small stone ledge install during their clean up. I can’t recommend this company enough!”
